I. Core courses
We offer more than a dozen financial series training courses in the areas of asset and investment management, trusts and wealth management, financial innovation and engineering, and internal controls and audit to foster well-rounded financial professionals.
II. Pre-job and on-the-job financial training courses
The SFI is given authoritive approval to provide a series of pre-job and on-the-job training programmes for professionals who work in securities and futures markets.
III. Practical training courses for corporate governance and senior management
The SFI is designated by the regulatory authority as one of the organizers for continuous training programmes for corporate directors and supervisors.
IV. International financial training programs

Advanced Financial Professional Training Workshop to nurture international professionals
The first phase of the workshop offers advanced finance courses on related subjects in the country. The second
phase consists of a tour of foreign financial institutions to the help students acquire new knowledge and stay
abreast of the development in international financial markets.

Co-sponsoring professional finance courses with foreign securities and futures organizations
The SFI has worked with Eurex to offer courses on Eurex products, techniques of program trading and
intercommodity hedge trading and other subjects.

Hosting international study programs, inviting internationally known experts to Taiwan to give lectures
We have organized several international study programs, inviting industry experts from the U.S., UK and
Singapore to lecture on “Integrated Wealth Management”, “Mortgage Capital Management”, “Merger and
Acquisition” and “Advanced Option Trading and Risk Management.”
V. International language training courses
We arrange a wide range of practical courses including Financial English, Conference English, Business English e-Mail Writing, and courses on Entertaining Foreign Guests and customers, Business Communication and Negotiation Skills.
VI. Securities and Futures Markets Regulations and Case Studies Seminars
We organize “Securities and Futures Markets Regulations and Case Studies Seminar” regularly to help judicial officials, prosecutors, and investigators gain a better understanding of financial crime patterns as well as relevant laws and regulations for securities and futures markets in the hope to help curb financial crimes to ensure a stable capital market.
VII. Training program for recent graduates and people interested in working in the futures industry
We offer training programs covering certification test preparation, futures trading, and marketing skills from time to time under the commission of relevant agencies or institutions. The training program primarily targets recent university graduates and the unemployed interested in working in the futures market with the aim to bring fresh blood into the securities and futures markets.
VIII. Assisting regulatory authorities in planning and holding international conferences
In the bid to bring about the internationalization of our capital market, the SFI assists the Financial Supervisory Commission in organizing the IOSCO Mobile Seminar Training Program and APRC Conference, inviting representatives of securities regulators and self-regulatory organizations around the world to attend. The SFI hosts Taipei Corporate Governance Forum (TAIGOF) every year, inviting foreign government officials, scholars and experts in the fields to Taiwan to give speech on corporate governance issues.
IX. Holding educational workshops under the commission of Taiwan Stock Exchange
For the purposes of strengthening corporate governance, accounting information transparency, and promoting the sound development of capital market, Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) commissions the SFI to offer workshops for the management, directors, supervisors and insiders of listed companies as well as campus groups. The workshops include “Corporate Officers’ Forum”, “eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL)”, “Insider Ownership Regulations for Unlisted Public Companies”, “Equity Transfer by Insiders of Listed Companies and Legal Compliance” and “Securities Knowledge Workshop for Primary and Secondary School Teachers.”
X. Assisting the Department of Commerce, MOEA in the “Business Accounting Workshop”
We bid for the “Business Accounting Promotion Project” of the Department of Commerce every year and hold workshops to propagate the correct concepts about business accounting system, rules and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
