n          Objectives

The Securities and Futures Golden Goblet Award is held to honor outstanding talents in the securities and futures industry, and to promote sound market development through establishment of best-practice models for emulation.

According to the Article 21 of the Rule Governing Responsible Persons and Associated Persons of Securities Firms,  the Article 18 of the Rules Governing Responsible Persons and Associated Persons of Futures Commission Merchants,  the Article 21 of the Rule Governing Responsible Persons and Associated Persons of  Securities Investment Trust Enterprises and  the Article 19 of the Rule Governing Responsible Persons and Associated Persons of  Securities Investment Consulting Enterprises, campaign of selecting outstanding talents in the securities and futures industry is conducted by  the Financial Supervisory Commission, Executive Yuan and supported by the Securities and Futures Bureau, Financial Supervisory Commission, Executive Yuan, R.O.C. (SFB) and the related securities and futures organization.

The original name of the award was called the Republic of China  Top 10 Securities and Futures Outstanding Talents Campaign when held in 1996 (the 1^st) and 1997.(the 2^nd ).Then the 3^rd was  named the Republic of China Securities and Futures Golden Goblet Award. Until 2003, we have held 7 campaigns and a total of 97 award recipients were selected for outstanding contributions

The selections of the Securities and Futures Golden Goblet Award for the past eight years were as follows：

1996　The 1^st Republic of China’s Best 10 Securities and Futures Outstanding Talents Campaign

1997　The 2^nd Republic of China’s Best 10 Securities and Futures Outstanding Talents Campaign

1998　The 3^rd Republic of China Securities and Futures Golden Goblet Award

1999　The 4^th Republic of China Securities and Futures Golden Goblet Award

2000　The 5^th Republic of China Securities and Futures Golden Goblet Award

2001　The 6^th Republic of China Securities and Futures Golden Goblet Award

2003　The 7^th Republic of China Securities and Futures Golden Goblet Award

In order to honor  those who made great contributions to the securities and futures markets as well as to build the paradigm, the SFI has hosted the “Campaign of selecting outstanding talents in the securities and futures industry” for seven times. 97 people have received the honors so far.

n          The Origination of the Award’s Name

Goblet, a tool of the ancient temple’s sacrificial rites, was used to engrave the praiseworthy achievement. In addition, Goblet also means seizing the chance and taking the actions. Only could the excellent talents grasp the opportunities and create the trend of the times in changeable financial markets. Therefore the Golden Goblet Award signifies to honor remarkable contributions to the securities and futures industry.

n          The Award Types

1、Outstanding Securities Expertise Award

The directors or employees of securities firms (except the chairman of the board and general manager) who have outstanding achievements or successful leading group at work and have created distinguished contributions to the market.

2、Outstanding Futures Expertise Award

The directors or employees of futures firms (except the chairman of the board and general manager) who have outstanding achievements or successful leading group at work and have created distinguished contributions to the market.

3、Outstanding Securities Investment Trust and Consulting Expertise Award

The directors or employees of securities investment trust and consulting firms (except the chairman of the board and general manager) who have outstanding achievements or successful leading group at work and have created distinguished contributions to the market.

4、Outstanding Market Services Expertise Award

The leader、director and employees of securities and futures related organizations  have the following outstanding achievements：

(1)   There are distinguished contributions to establish market uniform and promote market development.

(2)   The research reports which have distinguished contributions to the market.

(3)   Creating new financial products and successful introducer.

(4)   Maintaining the order of the market or other excellent performance.

The securities and futures related organizations are Taiwan Stock Exchange Corporation、Chinese Securities Association、Taiwan Securities Central Depository Co., Ltd. 、R.O.C. Over-The-Counter Securities Exchange、Taiwan Futures Exchange Corporation、Securities Investment Trust

& Consulting Association of R.O.C. 、Chinese National Futures Association、Securities Finance Companies、Securities and Futures Investors Protection Center、Securities Investors Association , R.O.C.

5、Outstanding Entrepreneurial Leadership Award

The leaders (only for the president、general manager) of securities 、futures、securities investment trust and consulting companies have excellent performance in business administration and have created outstanding reputation and performance.

Candidates of the staff and leaders about the above awards have to be recommended by their superiors and their belonging associations with their superior’s recommendation form.

6、Extraordinary Contribution Award

Improving the market innovation、promoting the market development 、participating the market system or handling the market international communication.

n          Selection

1、Number of Awards

The principle of the selection of each award has one person to three people. If candidates are more or less, winners should be added or reduced.

2、Selection Committee

Setting a director of the committee and other commissioners are divided into A and B groups. The caller of each group also serves the vice director of each group.

A group of commissioners are responsible for the selection of the 1^st to the 3^rd  awards : Outstanding Securities Expertise Award、Outstanding Futures Expertise Award and Outstanding Securities Investment Trust and Consulting Expertise Award; B group of commissioners are responsible for the selection of the 4^th to 6^th awards: Outstanding Market Services Expertise Award、Outstanding Entrepreneurial Leadership Award and Extraordinary Contribution Award. Each group has thirteen people.

3、Selecting Methods

The Board of Golden Goblet Committee make the decision which invites  scholars、experts and the reputable people to assemble the Selection Committee. There are three phases of the initial review、the second review and the final review in  the process of selecting the 1^st to the 5^th award.

The Selection Committee convenes the meeting of Establishment Selection Standard and confirms the selection process. The host should contact the Securities Futures Bureau、Taiwan Securities Exchange、R.O.C. Over-The-Counter Securities Exchange、Taiwan Futures Exchange Corporation and related associations to verify  whether candidates violate the related law or not after the application deadline being due.

The candidate of the 6^th award, the Extraordinary Contribution Award, was nominated by the Board of Golden Goblet Award and reviewed by B group of commissioners. After reviewing, the winner will be decided in the final review meeting.

n          Application and Recommendation

1、Outstanding Entrepreneurial Leadership Award has to be recommended by their companies and related organizations or associations. Other four awards, the 1^st to the 4^th award, should be recommended by their companies’ superiors.

2、Candidates should fill out application form and recommenders fill out recommendation form and also describe recommendation reasons.

3、The application date will be announced on the SFI website (http://www.sfi.org.tw).

n          To award the prizes and praise

Winners of the Golden Goblet Award will be awarded the prizes publicly after the auspices announcing the winner-list. The auspices will hold an ceremony to give the Award Certificates and the cups and introduce to societies via mass communication.

Many governors will be invited to join the ceremony and deliver a speech in order to testimony the fairness and justice of the campaign and honor the winners.  In addition, the auspices will also invite the winners’ relatives、selection committee and other famous people in financial markets to join the ceremony.
